Who places promo material on door handles anyway?

Just like some people have noted, uncollected flyers on apartment gates signal to thieves and burglars that no-one is home, promo material on a door handle is akin to trying all the doors in a carpark hoping to find a door unlocked (oops!!) and making off with the stuff inside.

Same dude that wrote to complain about the spammy SMSes he got shared this with me.

Dear ,

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. We will henceforth place any future promotional material on all windscreens of vehicles.

Once again, thank you for your kind understanding.

Best regards,
Admin

Dear Sir,

I was told that the tissue packet was wedged within the mechanism of the door handle, which leads me to believe that your staff pulled on my door handle. Impossible that the item was just “placed” on the door handle and have the risk of wind blowing it away.

Regardless, I am not comfortable with promotional material placed in that location. I will overlook this matter if I get written confirmation that you will henceforth only place your material on windscreens.

Dear (obfuscated),

Thank you for your feedback. We believe that there is a serious misunderstanding in this matter.

We respect your property. No door handles of any cars were pulled when our tissue packs were distributed. The tissue packs were simply placed onto the door handle and the distribution was done under close supervision. There was no way that your car could be subjected to any attempt of illegal entry or vandalised by any of our staff. The marks left on your car door handle as seen from your attached photograph are numerous multiple scratches and could not be resulted from one simple gesture of placing the tissue pack onto your car door handle.

In addition, should there be any attempt to enter your car illegally by any of our staff by pulling the door handle with that much force enough to leave those marks, we believe your car alarm would have sounded. If your car is parked in a car park with surveillance cameras, we strongly advise you to seek a footage from the relevant authorities to identify the culprit.

We seek your kind understanding in this matter and hope the above explanation will clear the air.

If you need further clarification, please feel free to contact us at 65074433.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Admin

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your staff, or outsourced contractor has:

1. Attempted illegal entry to my vehicle when he pulled the door handle to place your promotional material on my vehicle.
2. Placed scratches on the paintwork on my vehicle door as a result of above.

I have attached a picture of my vehicle door as it was found by my wife.

As I am currently not in town, I am writing to inform you that a police report will be lodged upon my arrival home and closer inspection of my vehicle on 18 Apr.

Rgds,
